The (Not Very) Ancient Game of Goblin Checkers

Here’s a rather silly strategy board game I created. It’s for two players, and It combines elements of chess, checkers, and Stratego. Best of all, it free to download and play. It’s designed to print out and cut up. If you try it and like it, send me a note.

Cinema: A Foresight Game for UNICEF

In 2017, as a graduate student in Strategic Foresight (Futurism), I worked with UNICEF in Tajikistan to develop a board game called Cinema! to be used as a qualitative research tool to gather insights into how adolescents viewed the future, both in terms of perceived challenges and aspirations. After development, translation into Russian and Tajik, play-testing, and moderator training, the game was played by over 250 groups across the country, after which the insights were analyzed and used to inform UNICEF’s educational programming for Tajikistan.
